I was encouraged by feedback about my poems, which prompted me to share 5 riddles I've written over the years. I don't think they're that difficult. That being said, if one is giving you trouble, email me and I'll help. For those who want to wait, I'll share answers in my next email. Hope it provides a little entertainment on a Friday evening. Riddle 1 I put men to sleep, Keep babes from crying. I'm there when you’re joyous, And when you’re dying. My teeth are not sharp, But I tear apart silence. My voice can be soft, Or remind you of violence. I can be right near you, Or above in the sky. Smash my guts with a hammer, And still I won't die. Riddle 2 Darkness is my friend And my life runs through me I shudder near the end And then you can’t use me Riddle 3 Atop the highest peak Still in caverns deep Countless lives eclipsed Even more deaths missed Strong in numbers and alone Made for earth, wood or stone Use me ancient or brand new Built of hundreds and a few Greatness set by any master Helpful friend in your disaster Riddle 4 I move slowly but I'm dead. I leave and then I'm back. I'm clear and then I'm red. I'm many neurotics' snack. What am I? Riddle 5 Sharp as a knife Thin as a leaf Creator of life Destroyer of peace Make things appear Then making them not Tip of the spear And yet I will rot |
Ever floated between feelings of failure and heroism? I write about those 'book-end' moments, and the many in between them, where the great stories and adventures of our lives play out.
